Hanover Theatre Variety Benefit for One Fund Boston

Local Celebrities and The Hanover Theatre to stage Variety Benefit Show for The One Fund Boston Shanna Jackman and Skyler join forces again amoung other amazing Worcester artists and talent to help benefit the One Fund Organization. All performers have donated their talents so that all proceeds can go directly to One Fund Boston to help those families affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.
Also in the lineup include local celebrity mind reader Eric Dittelman, Massachusetts finalists and contestants from "America's Got Talent," "The Voice" and other popular television talent competitions to present “Worcester Cares – Boston Strong: A Variety Show for The One Fund Boston” on May 24th at 8pm at The Hanover Theatre to help raise funds for the victims of the Boston Marathon tragedy. Dittelman was a semi-finalist on Season 7 of “America’s Got Talent” and is from the Worcester area. He combines mind reading with stand-up and improv comedy and has appeared in “Entertainment Weekly”, “Rolling Stone” and even the “National Enquirer”. He most recently was seen on “The Ellen Degeneres Show”. Also performing is alternative pop-rock singer-songwriter and Worcester native, Sam James from “The Voice”. Sam James appeared on Seasons 2 and 3 of the hit NBC singing competition where he was selected to be part of Adam Levine’s team. He since has had the chance to share his music with a wider audience reaching #11 on the iTunes Rock Chart and has recently opened for Gavin DeGraw and Andy Grammer. Joining them is Boston's premiere a cappella group, Five O'Clock Shadow. For more than 20 years, Five O’Clock Shadow has been impressing audiences in the US, Europe and Asia with their signature contemporary a cappella style. They have performed at Fenway Park, the NFL Hall of Fame, and with the Boston Pops; Aaron Neville and Patti LeBelle, just to name a few. VH1 labeled this group as “the best undiscovered vocal band,” and Instant Magazine wrote, “these guys take the ‘art form’ of a cappella music to a new jaw-dropping level…what ‘true’ alternative means.” In addition, Central Massachusetts's own country singing vocalist Shanna Jackman will be performing accompanied by Skyler. Shanna is an award wining powerful and dynamic vocalist and entertainer bringing together her own signature style of rock and soul into her country-flavored music. She has opened for artist such as Blake Shelton, Gretchen Wilson, Ronnie Dunn and others! Shanna is currently co-writing with songwriters from Texas, Nashville and Canada for her upcoming Nashville album schedule to release in 2013! Fresh off of his appearances on "The X Factor" and recording sessions with members of Jason Aldean's band, Maine native Skyler appears on stage across the Northeast and can be heard on the radio across the country. The show will be emceed by comedian Stephen Donovan of the “Jen & Steve Morning Show” on WXLO 104.5 FM. They will be joined by other acts and special guests yet to be announced from Worcester and its surrounding areas. The performers and The Hanover Theatre have donated their services and talents so that all proceeds from the event will go toward The One Fund Boston (www.onefundboston.org), which was established by Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino to raise money in order to help those families most affected by the tragic events that unfolded during the Boston Marathon.
